e3 Classroom Technology Announces a Version of the e3 Resource Center for Special Education Departments

ELLINGTON, Connecticut (November 10, 2009) - e3 Classroom Technology announced today that it is placing an e3RC unit designed specifically for use by Special Education students and teachers in Dover-Sherborn High School. "The e3RC offers Special Education teachers a much more efficient way to organize and track the specialized documents and assignments required for each of their students," said Danato Borelli, Vice President of Technology Development at e3 Classroom Technology. "The e3RC can help teachers struggling to handle coordination of assignments and paperwork on top of their already heavy teaching workloads by simplifying the document exchange process."

The specialized e3RC units being provided to Special Education classrooms run specially designed software that meets the needs of Special Ed teachers. These versions give all of the teachers who need to give assignments to special needs students the ability to place their files on the device. These students are then able to obtain all of their assignments from one location, while nearly eliminating the large amount of work that currently goes into collecting and organizing all of the assignments.

The e3RC is a device about the size of two stacked textbooks, with 24 USB ports. Each student user is given a USB flash drive that is used for document exchange. Each day at the beginning of class, each student plugs their USB flash drive into the e3RC, and files are automatically transferred between the student and teacher. The e3RC allows students to submit homework and receive assignments without using printed handouts, which are expensive and environmentally damaging.
